Her latest novel about roots and home was a perfect fit for our Year of the Earth. That's why Wlada Kolosowa not only continued writing it during her stay at the artist residence, but also presented it in a short reading.
The writer and journalist has already published several non-fiction books and short stories. She writes for Zeit Online, neon, jetzt.de, Spiegel Online and the Tagesspiegel. In the summer of 2024, she was at the art hermitage at Rietzer Berg to switch off from everyday life, calm down and concentrate on writing her current novel.
A clear daily routine
She was very focused, starting writing straight after breakfast and only stopping in the evening. She often used the evening to go for walks, swimming and jogging in the area.
Exceeding expectations
She says of her time with us: “The stay was great and absolutely exceeded my expectations. Both the landscape park and the hermitage look even better in real life than in the photos and I really enjoyed the nature and the simple and practical design of the hermitage.”
