Fallow deer

Northeast of the landscape park is the enclosure of the fallow deer. There are about ten to twenty bucks (male) and does (female). The enclosure is separated into three fields with a shelter and a water place each. The animals change fields frequently so the plants have a chance to regrow. The lead animal is the while buck Hubertus Leopold with his typical shovel-shaped antlers.

Fallow deer can be distinguished from red deer by their white dots that are more prominent in summer than in winter. In fall there is rutting season in which the rutting calls of the bucks can be heard and bucks fight over the females. In the spring of the coming year the fawns are born.

Owner of the fallow deer is hunter Martin Seeliger. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach him by email: jack.seeliger@web.de.
