Community garden

We offer a community garden for neighbors and anyone who would like to join on an area of 2.500 square meters. Join the group to meet people, work in the garden and harvest together.

Since spring 2023 more than 20 community gardeners are working their land at Rietzer Berg. They cultivate a multitude of vegetables on 1 to 12 rows - just as they wish. There are greenhorns who are totally new to gardening, there are old hands who need additional space to their own gardens and then there are people who needed an experimental area and found it at Rietzer Berg. The community gardeners cultivate their rows individually and according to their wishes and available time.

At the beginning of the season, the community gardeners prepare the field, lay out the mulching material and install the irrigation system together with our team. And from time to time there are voluntary work meetups to install commonly used infrastructure. The watering of the plants takes place through a drip irrigation system of the separate rows that helps save a lot of water.

Our animals help fertilize the field. But it can happen that they enter the community garden without permission and make some damage. Naturally, we try to prevent this as much as possible, but it just may happen that one of the sheep misappropriates a lettuce.

Our gardening team is there for you with advice and support if needed. So it's no problem for total beginners to start their first vegetable cultivation here.

It is free of charge to participate in our community garden.

If you're interested in joining, just let us know and come over. Write us to: info@dev.rietzerberg.de or call +49 3381-211438.
